This is a good way to get started with your study of Aikido. We’ll introduce you to some basic concepts, exercises and techniques as well as teach you how to fall safely. And you’ll have plenty of friendly help and support from our more senior members.
There are three sessions, each meeting twice a week for four weeks. The price is $50.
Session 1: Mondays 6:30 – 7:30 PM and Wednesday 7 – 8 PM starting Feb. 6
Session 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays noon – 1 PM, starting Feb. 7
Session 3: Mondays and Wednesdays 6 to 7 AM, starting Feb. 6
These classes are primarily intended for people training for a yudansha exam or for anyone interested in working on advanced skills, such as weapons taking, randori, jiyu waza, kaeshi waza, etc. They are tentatively planned for the fourth Sunday of each month, starting at 10 AM and lasting about 1.5 hours. Students from other dojos are welcome. Note: these dates are tentative, so be sure to check with us before you decide to come.

Randori Workshop 3 & 4- Saturday, March 3 and Saturday, April 7
The final two of a series of 4 workshops where we’ve been exploring Aikido free style. On both days we will work on dealing with multiple attackers, primarily from two-shoulder grab, though we will at least take a look at other attacks and multiple attacks. Among other things, we will work on building a good defense (i.e., avoiding attackers), better understanding the options we have at any given time, moving at all times in relation to all attackers, throwing attackers into each other, etc.
Fee: $50 ($40 if you attended the first seminar)
Starts at 10:30 AM (note: new starting time), ends around 5:30 PM.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: We are very happy to be hosting Ikeda Sensei June 22 – 24. More details to follow.
