We welcome visitors to our dojo. Below is an assortment of information intended to answer the most common questions a visitor might have.
Mat fee
We do not have a mat fee, though any donation is gratefully accepted.
Facilities
For info about our building, changing rooms, parking, etc, please visit our dedicated page.
Paperwork
We have a shortened assumption of risk form for you to fill out before you train. You can download it and bring it with you, or we have paper copies at the dojo.
What to wear
We are an ASU-affiliated dojo. As such, we have only white and black belts, and students of any rank may wear a hakama. You are welcome to wear whatever uniform configuration you wish—hakama or not, colored belt or not. Whatever makes you comfortable for training is fine.
Checking in
When you arrive, please introduce yourself to someone so we can make sure you know where to go, etc.
Which classes should I/may I attend?
The basic class schedule (on the right of each page) gives you our weekly offerings. Classes noted as "advanced" are for students who can confidently take ukemi in all directions and can protect themselves in more vigorous training. We do not have a specific rank requirement for advanced classes. Feel free to contact us if you have questions. If you choose to visit for a weapons class, we do have some loaner weapons available for your use.
